Description by OLDIES.com:
Dawn on the Great Divide marks the final film in the Rough Riders series. Shortly before its release, Buck Jones died in a fire at the Cocoanut Grove nightclub. The previous year Tim McCoy, who played Marshal Tim McCall in the previous eight Rough Riders films, was called up to active military duty. For Dawn on the Great Divide, McCoy was replaced by Rex Bell in the role of Jack Carson.

Buck Jones perished in a fire in a Boston nightclub before this film was released. It is a truly wonderful last performance by this great cowboy star. A very different Rough Riders film, probably due to the absense of Tim McCoy who has re-enlisted in the service for WWII and was replaced by Rex Bell, another good B-Western actor, but one who did not have quite the screen presense of McCoy. It is the only film in the series where Jones and Raymond Hatton are not undercover, and are together at the very top of the film, instead of uniting later on. It also has Jones involved in a romantic plot line - one of the most sincere of his career. Tons of action, lots of fun.
